Bulletproof.
That's how Jenna Kassarian sees herself. It's all about control—perfect grades, the ideal boyfriend, the best best friend. Then one night, and one party, shatters her perfect facade, and Jenna realizes that straight A's can't protect you in the real world.
Sticky Fingers is set in Framingham, Massachusetts, not far from where Niki lives. Though the high school in Sticky Fingers is a fictional one, most of the places (Bennigan's, Bruegger's Bagels, Jenna and Scott's Stop & Shop, Mat's Dunkin' Donuts, and the nearby Natick Mall with its CVS store) used in the story are real. Framingham also has a large Brazilian population, with many first- and second-generation immigrants, and Niki drew from their culture to create Mat's character.
"This quick read is a more serious turn for Burnham that may attract some new readers...a valuable addition to any collection."
